Northern Lines V2.3

The Preston - Blackpool North line runs from the Main station of Preston situated on the West Coast Mainline, to the ever popular summer holiday resort of Blackpool. The route has been lovingly re-created by Thomas Harrison. The line doesn't only feature the main run between Preston and Blackpool, but it also features the Preston Docks line, Ribble Steam Railway and now,the Burn Naze branch from Poulton!

V2 of the route now includes 27 scenarios, the requirements for these are included in the manual at the bottom of this page.

Along the route:

Preston

Preston located in the county of Lancashire but also the junction for the Blackpool North line to separate from the West Coast Mainline. The station has been recreated to the best of our ability without actually having custom assets built.

Salwick ​

This is the next station along the line heading towards Blackpool. All the stations have been lovingly re-created along the line with Custom Station signs, and Signal box signs. This really helps add to the atmosphere when driving along the route.

Kirkham & Wesham

Kirkham & Wesham is the next substantial station along the route, this is a fairly large area, featuring many sidings that haven't seen use in years, and a fairly large junction. This is where the line to Blackpool South diverges,though it's only included for a short distance on Northern Lines.

Poulton-le-Fylde

Poulton-le-Fylde is the next station, and also used to be the former junction for the line that used to serve Fleetwood. We have decided to include the Burn Naze section of this branch,in full detail despite it ceasing to be used in 2006. 

Burn Naze branch

The Burn Naze (Former Fleetwood line) is added into Northern Lines,this single track freight branch closed in 1999 and provides an opportunity for driving freight along the route from Preston as far as Poulton,where the freight only line diverges to the right. 

Blackpool North

Blackpool North is the Western terminus of the route. Featuring a large station,carriage sidings and fueling point. It also features views of the iconic Blackpool Tower, and the original semaphore signals.

This only applies to people who own the original North Wales Coastal route and do not have the newly released version (January 2022).
This version of Northern Lines will not be updated and any future updates to the route will only apply to the main copy on the links above.
